Miami’s Posey suspended

New York, NY (Sports Network) – Miami Heat forward James Posey was suspended
for one game after shouldering Chicago’s Kirk Hinrich to the floor in
Thursday’s 109-90 loss to the Bulls in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference
quarterfinal series.

Posey knocked Hinrich to the court as the Chicago guard dribbled in the middle
of the court with 3:15 remaining in the game. Posey was given a flagrant foul
and ejected.

After the game, Heat head coach Pat Riley expressed his displeasure with the

“Maybe something happened at the other end of the court, but I don’t like
that,” Riley said. “There has to be dignity at the end of the game.”

Posey, who averaged 7.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game during the regular
season, will miss Sunday’s game at the United Center. Miami leads the series,
2-1. Posey is averaging 9.7 points and 5.3 boards in this series.
