Shaq dominates as Heat finish off Bulls in Game 6

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) – Shaquille O’Neal scored 30 points and pulled
down 20 rebounds, as the Miami Heat advanced to the second round of the
playoffs by dominating the Chicago Bulls, 113-96, in Game 6 of their Eastern
Conference quarterfinal series.

Dwyane Wade didn’t seem bothered by a hip injury suffered on Tuesday, as he contributed 23 points and six assists before fouling out.

The Heat won the final two contests of the series, and they closed out the Bulls at the United Center with solid inside play. Udonis Haslem added 17 points and 14 rebounds, while James Posey tallied 18 points and seven boards. Miami outrebounded the Bulls, 51-34.

The second-seeded Heat will face No. 3 seed New Jersey in the conference semifinals. The Nets finished off the Indiana Pacers in Game 6 of that first- round series on Thursday, 96-90, at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Kirk Hinrich had 23 points, Ben Gordon posted 21 and Andres Nocioni scored 20 for the Bulls.

The Nets went 3-1 against the Heat this season. The clubs will meet in the playoffs for a second time, with Miami sweeping a first-round set last year, winning each game by an average of nearly 13 points.
