Not done yet: Spurs still alive after win over Mavericks
San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) – Tim Duncan shot 13-of-19 from the floor for
a season-high 36 points as the San Antonio Spurs fought off elimination with a
98-97 win over the Dallas Mavericks in their Eastern Conference semifinal
series at the AT&T Center.
Duncan also had 12 rebounds and three blocks while Tony Parker netted 27
points for the Spurs, who trail three games to two in the series. San Antonio
hasn’t been eliminated from the playoffs at home since 1993 against the
Manu Ginobili, who hit the game-winning free throw, scored 18 points and
dished out five assists. Michael Finley chipped in 12 points and seven
rebounds in the victory.
Dirk Nowitzki contributed 31 points and 10 boards and Josh Howard netted 16
and also grabbed eight rebounds for the Mavericks, who will have another
chance to close out the series at home on Friday in Game 6.
Jason Terry, who scored 32 points in Game 4, had 15 points and five assists
while Devin Harris added 15 in the loss.
