Celtics swap LaFrentz and No. 7 pick for Telfair

Boston, MA (Sports Network) – The Boston Celtics reportedly acquired guard
Sebastian Telfair on Wednesday night.

According to a report in the Boston Globe, the Celtics got Telfair and forward
Theo Ratliff from the Portland Trailblazers for forward Raef LaFrentz, guard
Dan Dickau, and the seventh pick in tonight’s NBA Draft.

Telfair, a New York high school legend, was the 13th choice in the 2004 Draft
but has been a disappointment in Portland.

In two seasons with the Blazers, the guard has averaged 8.1 points and 3.5
assists per game. Last season he started 30 of the 68 games he played and
averaged 9.5 points per game and 3.6 assists per game.

LaFrentz and Ratliff are both big money players that are expected to improve
with changes of scenery.
