Pacers make offer to Jones

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) – The Indiana Pacers have made a qualifying
offer to restricted free-agent guard Fred Jones, the team announced on

Jones, who was the 14th selection in the 2002 Draft, averaged 9.6 points in 68
games last season for Indiana. Overall, Jones have averaged 7.6 points per
contest over four seasons with the Pacers.

By making Jones a qualifying offer, the Pacers can match an offer sheet Jones
might receive when signings of free agents begin on July 12.
