Bucks exercise option on Bogut

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) – The Milwaukee Bucks extended the contract
of center Andrew Bogut on Thursday by exercising the third-year option of his
rookie contract.

“We drafted Andrew last season with the expectation that he would be a part of
this franchise for a very long time and this is just another step in that
process,” said Bucks general manager Larry Harris. “We look forward to
building upon the success he had during his rookie season.”

Bogut is now signed with Milwaukee through the 2007-08 season.

The Australian native averaged 9.8 points and 7.0 rebounds in his rookie
season after being selected number one overall in the 2005 NBA Draft. He
appeared in each of Milwaukees 82 games and led all rookies in rebounds,
blocks and field goal percentage.
