Harpring to stay with Jazz
Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) – The Utah Jazz have locked up forward
Matt Harpring on Tuesday as the two sides reportedly have agreed to terms on a
contract. Terms of the deal were not released.
According to the Salt Lake Tribune, the 30-year-old Harpring will sign a deal
on July 12, the first day allowable under league rules, that will keep him in
Utah. The paper is reporting that Harpring was seeking a four or five year
Harpring, who has undergone a pair of knee surgeries in the last 2 1/2 years,
averaged 12.5 points and 5.2 rebounds in 71 games last season. He missed time
at the start of the year while recovering from offseason knee surgery.
For his career, the eight-year veteran has averaged 13 points and 5.9 rebounds
in 449 career games for Orlando, Cleveland, Philadelphia and Utah. The Georgia
