NBA salary cap set at $53.135 million

New York, NY (Sports Network) – The NBA has set the salary cap for the 2006-07
season at $53.135 million.

With the salary cap in place, teams can start to officially sign players and
make trades at 12:01 a.m. (et) on Wednesday, July 12.

Many teams and players have already agreed to deals. The biggest name ready to
switch teams is Ben Wallace, who has already agreed to leave the Detroit
Pistons for the Chicago Bulls.
