Bosh signs extension with Raptors
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) – Forward Chris Bosh signed a multi-year contract
extension with the Toronto Raptors on Friday.
Bosh, an All-Star last year, led Toronto with 22.5 points, 9.2 rebounds and
39.3 minutes per game to go along with 2.6 assists in 70 games last season. He
also set club records in free throws made (437) and attempted (551) while
posting a team-high 32 double-doubles.
While terms of the deal were not released, Bosh did give some back as he new
found fortune back as he donated $1 million to various community legacy
“Signing Chris Bosh to this contract extension was the top priority of this
off-season and it solidifies our plan to make him the cornerstone of this
franchise,” said Toronto general manager Bryan Colangelo. “As exemplified in
his one million dollar charitable commitment today, Chris is a special young
man, both on and off the basketball floor. We are blessed to have him as part
of this organization and community.”
In 226 career contests, Bosh is averaging 16.8 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.32
blocks per game. Bosh, selected fourth overall by Toronto in the 2003 draft,
was named to the USA Senior Men’s Program in March.
