Pistons sign second-round draft pick

Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) – The Detroit Pistons signed second round
draft choice Will Blalock to a multi-year contract on Monday. Per team policy,
terms of the contract were not released.

Blalock scored 15.4 points and dished out 6.1 assists in 30 contests for Iowa
State last season. In 93 games — 82 starts — he ended his career ranked 22nd
in scoring (1,078 points), sixth in assists (464) and tied for sixth in
steals (177).

Blalock was the chosen with the 60th and final pick in the 2006 NBA Draft.

“We are pleased to announce the signing of our second round pick Will
Blalock,” said Pistons president of basketball operations Joe Dumars. “Will
had a good showing at the Vegas summer league and we are excited about his
potential and ability to give us depth a the point guard position.”
