Stevenson signs with Wizards

Washington, DC (Sports Network) – Guard DeShawn Stevenson, who had spent the
last three seasons playing for Orlando, has signed a contract with the
Washington Wizards.

Last season, Stevenson averaged 11 points, 2.9 rebounds and two assists and
connected on a career-best 46 percent of his field goal attempts in a career-
high 82 games for the Magic.

“DeShawn is an explosive player who can drive to the basket,” said Wizards
head coach Eddie Jordan. “He is a sound perimeter defender who will add
toughness to our team.”

The Wizards signed Stevenson as insurance in case they decide not to match an
offer sheet Jared Jeffries signed with the New York Knicks.

Prior to joining the Magic, Stevenson spent 3 1/2 seasons with the Utah Jazz,
where he averaged 5.8 points.
