Patterson continues as GM of Blazers

Portland, OR (Sports Network) – The Portland Trail Blazers announced Monday
that Steve Patterson will remain the team’s president and general manager for
“the foreseeable future.”

Patterson was tabbed as the interim GM after the club decided in late May not
to have the contract of John Nash extended for next season.

The Blazers also named Kevin Pritchard as their new assistant general manager
on Monday.

“We’re very pleased with the work and results that we’ve enjoyed, working
together to produce an exciting draft, the re-signing of Joel Przybilla and a
revamped roster that includes eight new players,” Patterson said.

The Blazers are coming off one of the worst seasons in franchise history with
a 21-61 mark. Portland’s record last season was its worst since 1973, when
the Blazers had the same mark.
