Nets exercise options on Krstic, Wright
East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) – The New Jersey Nets exercised
contract options on forward/center Nenad Krstic and guard/forward Antoine
Wright on Friday.
Krstic, who had the fourth-year option on his contract exercised, will now
remain with the Nets through the 2007-08 season.
Over his first two seasons with New Jersey, Krstic has averaged 11.8 points
and 5.9 rebounds per game in 155 contests.
“Nenad is an integral part of the Nets success,” said team president Rod
Thorn. “We look forward to his continued improvement in the years to come.”
A native of Serbia-Montenegro, Krstic was drafted in the first round of the
2002 draft by New Jersey.
After having the third-year option on his contract exercised, Wright will
remain under contract through the 2007-08 campaign.
“Antoine worked extremely hard on his game during the off-season,” added
Thorn. “His improved performance during the preseason warrants this
Wright averaged 13.7 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest in seven preseason
In his rookie campaign last year with the Nets, the former Texas A&M product
averaged 1.8 points in 39 games.
New Jersey selected Wright with the 15th overall pick in the 2005 draft.
