Bucks start home schedule against Kings
(Sports Network) – The Milwaukee Bucks play their home opener,as they
welcome the Sacramento Kings tonight to the Bradley Center.
Milwaukee has won three straight home-openers.
The Bucks will try and bounce back from a bad loss. On Friday, Chris Bosh and
T.J. Ford dominated as the Toronto Raptors knocked off Milwaukee, 109-92, at
Air Canada Centre.Bosh was an offensive force from the opening tip, finishing
with 26 points, 15 rebounds, and two blocks , while Ford, the ex-Buck who was
traded to Toronto for forward Charlie Villanueva during the offseason, scored
13 points and dished out 11 assists.
Andrew Bogut led the way with 18 points and seven rebounds in the loss for
Milwaukee, and Villanueva added 17 points and 11 rebounds. Villanueva left the
game in the fourth quarter with a hamstring injury and is questionable for
The Bucks were 25-16 as the host last season. Milwaukee is scheduled to visit
Ben Wallace and the Chicago Bulls on Monday at the United Center.
The Kings play the finale of a season-opening three-game road trip. After a
season-opening loss Wednesday at Minnesota, Kevin Martin’s jumper with 6.4
seconds left in the fourth quarter proved to be the game-winner and sent
Sacramento to a shocking 89-88 win over the Chicago Bulls on Friday at the
Martin led all scorers with a career-high 30 points in the win over Chicago,
while Mike Bibby poured in 23 to go along with nine assists, but had 11
turnovers. Ron Artest finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds for the Kings,
who have beaten the Bulls in 14 of their last 15 meetings.
After tonight’s contest, the Kings return to ARCO Arena for a four-game
homestand. They will host Minnesota, Detroit, Toronto and Memphis on the
Sacramento has won four straight in this series. The Kings have won five in a
row at Milwaukee.
