Celtics’ Jefferson has appendectomy
Boston, MA (Sports Network) – Boston Celtics forward Al Jefferson had
appendectomy surgery at New England Baptist Hospital Wednesday afternoon.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Steven Camer and Dr. Farhat Homsy and
assisted by Celtics Team Physician Dr. Brian McKeon.
It was not announced how much time Jefferson is expected to miss with the
ailment. The Celtics host Charlotte on Wednesday night.
In three games this season, Jefferson is averaging 11.3 points and 7.0
rebounds in 26.7 minutes per game. He recorded his first double-double of the
season, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, against the Detroit
Pistons on November 3.
