Sixers start road trip in Seattle

(Sports Network) – The struggling Philadelphia 76ers begin a three-game
road trip when they visit the streaking Seattle SuperSonics tonight at
KeyArena.

After winning its first three games of the season, Philadelphia has dropped
three in a row. On Friday, Carmelo Anthony scored a game-high 31 points to
lead the Denver Nuggets to a 108-101 victory over the Sixers at the Wachovia
Center.

Kyle Korver poured in 23 points off the bench and pulled down seven boards
during Friday’s loss for the Sixers. All-Star Allen Iverson scored 21 points
and dished out nine assists, while Samuel Dalembert added 17 points and Chris
Webber netted 16 in defeat.

The Sixers are scheduled to visit Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns on Friday
and Elton Brand and the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday in the finale of the
current trip. Philadelphia is 1-2 on the swing.

Seattle tries to record its fourth win in a row. Luke Ridnour scored a career-
high 32 points and dished out seven assists, as the SuperSonics downed the New
Jersey Nets, 119-113, on Monday at Continental Airlines Arena.

Rashard Lewis posted 27 points and 11 rebounds in the victory over New Jersey
for the SuperSonics, while sharp-shooting guard Ray Allen and Chris Wilcox
both ended with 22 points in the win.

The Sonics are 1-1 at home this season. They will host the Utah Jazz on Friday
before hitting the road to face Baron Davis and the Golden State Warriors on
Saturday at ORACLE Arena.

Last season, the Sixers and SuperSonics split a pair of contests. Philadelphia
has won five of its last seven at Seattle.
