Nuggets’ Martin out for season
Orlando, FL (Sports Network) – Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin will miss
the rest of the season after surgery on Wednesday revealed more significant
damage to his right knee.
The injury was discovered after an MRI last Wednesday revealed loose bodies in
Dr. Richard Steadman performed arthroscopic surgery on the forward and the
damage to Martin’s knee was much more significant than previously suspected,
requiring Martin to miss the remainder of the season.
The Cincinnati product averaged 9.5 points and 10 rebounds per game in two
game this season.
In his seven-year career, which also included a four-year stint with the New
Jersey Nets, Martin has averaged 14.8 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per
game in 411 career contests.
