Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) – Tayshaun Prince netted a game-high 25
points and Rasheed Wallace poured in 21 to lead Detroit to a 97-87 victory
over the shorthanded Philadelphia 76ers at the Wachovia Center. Prince
finished 9-of-13 from the floor and Wallace shot 8-of-14 while
grabbing 11 rebounds. Allen Iverson, who leads the Sixers in scoring and
assists, missed the game after having surgery to remove an abscessed wisdom
tooth. Chris Webber also sat out for the second straight game with stiffness
in his back.

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) – Stephen Jackson’s block of Ersan
Ilyasova’s game-tying three-point attempt capped a frantic Indiana comeback in
a 93-88 victory over Milwaukee at Conseco Fieldhouse. The Pacers scored the
game’s final 14 points with Jamaal Tinsley’s running bank shot giving them
an 89-88 edge with 31 seconds left. Michael Redd missed a jumper on the other
end, and Darrell Armstrong drained a pair of free throws to set up the finish.
Jermaine O’Neal tallied a game-high 26 points with 13 rebounds and Tinsley
donated 17 points with nine assists and six rebounds. Danny Granger and
Jackson totaled 10 points apiece for the Pacers, who swept the home-and-home
with Milwaukee.

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) – Drew Gooden scored 22 points and pulled down
15 rebounds and the Cleveland Cavaliers held off a furious fourth quarter
rally to slip past the Memphis Grizzlies, 97-94. Brian Cardinal missed a
contested three-pointer to tie at the buzzer for the Grizzlies, who failed in
their bid to win back-to-back games for the first time this season. Chucky
Atkins led the Grizzlies with 17 points, and Mike Miller added 15 for
Memphis. Cardinal scored 12 and Dahntay Jones tallied 11 points for Memphis.
Damon Jones scored 21 points for Cleveland, which has won six of its last
seven games. LeBron James scored a quiet 15 points, and Zydrunas Illguaskas
added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Cavaliers.

Oklahoma City, OK (Sports Network) – Peja Stojakovic poured in 23 points to
guide the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets past the Miami Heat, 101-86, at
the Ford Center. Desmond Mason donated 17 points while Tyson
Chandler ripped down 18 rebounds and added seven points for the Hornets,
who have won four in a row. Dwyane Wade led all scorers with 29 points and
also dished out six assists for Miami, which has dropped four of five.

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) – Dirk Nowitzki poured in a game-high 30 points
and pulled down 14 rebounds as Dallas routed Washington, 107-80, at American
Airlines Center. Nowitzki finished 11-of-19 from the field with five assists
and Devin Harris and Jason Terry each contributed 18 as the Mavericks
outscored the Wizards in the second half, 56-29, en route to their seventh
straight victory. Austin Croshere and Greg Buckner scored 14 and 11 points,
respectively, off the bench while DeSagana Diop grabbed 13 rebounds in the
win. Gilbert Arenas netted 29 points on just 9-of-25 shooting and Caron
Butler added 12 points with 11 boards for the Wizards, who have lost five
straight and six of their last seven at Dallas.

Denver, CO (Sports Network) – J.R. Smith scored a career-high 36 points to
lead the Denver Nuggets to a 113-109 win over the Chicago Bulls. Carmelo
Anthony scored 29, and the Nuggets received two double-doubles, one each
from Andre Miller and Marcus Camby. Miller scored 11 and doled out 11
assists, while Camby scored 13 and grabbed 15 rebounds to help the Nuggets to
the victory. Denver has won two in a row, and five of six. Kirk Hinrich led
the Bulls with 28 points and eight rebounds. Luol Deng scored 22, and Ben
Gordon provided 19 off of the bench. Two Bulls also registered double-
doubles, as Ben Wallace scored 11 and grabbed 16 rebounds, and Andres
Nocioni scored 15 and pulled down 11 boards. Chicago has lost five in a row.

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) – Kobe Bryant scored a season-high 40 points
to guide the Lakers over the Clippers, 105-101, in an intra-city showdown at
the Staples Center. Lamar Odom finished with 18 points and six rebounds while
Smush Parker dropped in 15 for the Lakers, who have won four in a row. Elton
Brand posted a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds and Corey
Maggette also finished with 20 points for the Clippers, who have dropped two
of their last three.
