Bosh, Raptors edge Celtics

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) – Chris Bosh scored 25 points and pulled down 10
rebounds as Toronto edged Boston, 106-102, at the Air Canada Centre.

Anthony Parker added 17 points for the Raptors, who have won three of their
past four contests. Jorge Garbajosa chipped in with 16 points and six rebounds
while rookie Andrea Bargnani contributed 11 for Toronto.

Paul Pierce paced a balanced Celtics attack with 19 points and nine assists.
Ryan Gomes tallied 16 points for Boston, which lost for the fourth time in
five games.

Al Jefferson and Delonte West both netted 14 points apiece for the Celtics.

Down by three entering the final frame, Boston stunned the Raptors by reeling
off seven straight points to start the quarter. Jefferson got loose for a
lay-in, West stuck a jumper and Tony Allen finished the mini-run with a three-
point play to put the Celtics on top, 85-81, with 10:31 left.

The game stayed tight from there before Bosh’s three-point play, with 4:37
remaining, deadlocked things at 95.

The Raptors then carved out a little breathing room with an 8-2 run over the
next two-plus minutes. Bosh capped the flurry with a beautiful turnaround
jumper from the right baseline and a pair of free throws to make it a 103-97
game with 2:29 left on the clock.

Boston closed to within three, 105-102, when Pierce drained a pair from the
line with 36.6 ticks remaining. But, Bosh hit 1-of-2 from the strip with 15.1
left to keep it a two possession game.

The Celtics then misfired on a couple of desperation threes as time ran out.

Boston took a slim 32-30 lead in a fast paced opening quarter but the Raptors
bounced back to take a 58-51 edge at the half.

The Celtics then closed the gap to just three, 81-78, with a solid third
quarter.
