Bosh leads Raptors past Knicks
New York, NY (Sports Network) – Chris Bosh had 26 points and 13 rebounds to
lead Toronto over New York, 103-100, at Madison Square Garden.
T.J. Ford added 20 points and 10 assists for the Raptors, who have won two
straight and four of five. Andrea Bargnani had 11 points for Toronto, which
held off a late surge by New York to earn just its second road win in 10 games
Eddy Curry had 27 points and 12 rebounds and Quentin Richardson had 16 points
and 16 rebounds for New York, which has lost two straight and four of five.
Stephon Marbury added 15 points and Jamal Crawford and Renaldo Balkman each
had 10 points for the Knicks, whose home troubles continued.
New York has lost four straight and seven of eight at home this year, compared
to a 5-6 road mark.
Down 80-79 after a Marbury bucket with under two minutes left in the third
quarter, the Raptors went on an 8-0 run that bridged the final two quarters to
take the lead for good. Jose Calderon’s bucket less than two minutes into the
fourth ended the surge and gave Toronto an 87-80 edge.
The lead later reached nine points, 96-87, on a Rasho Nesterovic bucket, but
the Knicks refused to go away. New York drew within 96-94 on a Curry basket
with under three minutes to go, but that was as close as they would get.
Nesterovic ended with eight points, while Calderon had nine for the Raptors,
who have won six of seven against the Knicks.
New York led 31-29 after one quarter, but trailed 64-60 going into halftime.
Richardson scored 14 points in the first quarter…New York hit 44.8 percent
of its shots, compared to 40 percent for the Raptors…Toronto hit 8-of-19
threes, while the Knicks went 6-of-23…Toronto also hit 31-of-33 free
throws…New York hit 16-of-20 from the line.
