Gordon and Bulls dominate Washington

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) – Ben Gordon scored 28 points and Andres Nocioni
poured in 24 as Chicago dominated Washington, 112-94, at the United Center.

Luol Deng donated 18 points and pulled down nine rebounds while Ben Wallace
and Kirk Hinrich each added 10 points for the Bulls, who have won four
straight.

“I think we are playing with confidence,” Nocioni said. “We are playing much
better basketball now. It is a long season and we need to keep working.”

Caron Butler led the Wizards with 21 points on 8-of-15 from the field with 10
rebounds and DeShawn Stevenson contributed 12 points. Antonio Daniels netted
11 points and Gilbert Arenas finished with 10.

“We’re just trying to get a win, that’s the main thing,” Butler said. “You
just have to tip your hat to Chicago for playing so well.”

Washington, which shot a 42.5 percent from the floor, set a franchise record
by losing its eighth straight road game to start the season.

The Bulls, trailing by four with 2 1/2 minutes left in the first, capped the
frame with a 10-2 spurt for a 29-25 edge. Chicago then outscored Washington,
33-19, in the second en route to a 62-44 halftime advantage.

Nocioni scored 20 first-half points for the Bulls while Butler netted 11 for
the Wizards.

It was much of the same in the third as Chicago continued its domination of
Washington by opening up a 20-point lead early on. Then, with 42 seconds left
in the period, Deng hit a layup to put the Bulls up 90-60 for their biggest
lead of the game.

The Wizards never mounted a threat in the fourth and could only get within 17
at 98-81 midway through the frame.
