Jackson leads Indiana past Portland

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) – Stephen Jackson scored 25 points and
dished out five assists as Indiana bested Portland, 108-95, at Conseco

Jamaal Tinsley added 20 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and four steals
for the Pacers, who won their second straight contest and beat Portland for
the seventh consecutive time. Al Harrington chipped in with 16 points while
Danny Granger tallied 14 points off the bench.

Zach Randolph netted a game-high 29 points before fouling out for the reeling
Trail Blazers, who have lost seven of their last eight games. Juan Dixon
tallied 17 points and Jamaal Magloire had 14 for Portland.

Down 11 at intermission, the Pacers used a dominant third quarter to seize
control of the game. Tinsley was spectacular with 11 points in the frame as
Indiana outscored Portland 35-14 to take a 77-67 lead into the final quarter.

The Pacers continued to hold the Blazers at arm’s length as the game headed
toward the stretch. Randolph’s hook shot, with 6:53 left, drew Portland to
within seven points, 86-79.

But, Indiana answered and put things away by scoring nine of the game’s next
11 points during the next 2 1/2 minutes. Tinsley capped the mini-run with a
pair from the charity stripe to make it a 95-81 game.

The Pacers coasted to the finish line from there.

Indiana jumped on Portland at the tip and raced out to a 13-2 edge, but the
Blazers recovered to ahead, 24-22, after the first 12 minutes.

Portland then used a solid second quarter to take a double-digit lead, 53-42,
into the locker room.
