Toronto’s Calderon leaves game on stretcher, suffers back injury

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) – Toronto Raptors forward Jose Calderon left
Sunday’s 120-115 victory over the Golden State Warriors on a stretcher with
a contusion to his left lower back.

Calderon went up to grab a rebound with 32.4 seconds left in the fourth
quarter and came down hard on his back. He did not move for several minutes,
and team trainers and doctors had to place him on a stretcher with his neck in
a brace.

Tests at a local hospital suggested a soft tissue injury, but no significant
bone, neurological, or major organ damage was found.

Calderon is listed as day-to-day with the injury, and did not accompany the
team in its flight to Phoenix, where the Raptors will open a four-game road
trip on Tuesday.
