Kings welcome Mavericks to ARCO Arena

(Sports Network) – The Dallas Mavericks try to collect their fourth straight
victory when they visit the Sacramento Kings tonight at ARCO Arena.

This is the second meeting of the season between the squads. On December 1st,
All-Star Dirk Nowitzki scored 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, to lead
Dallas to a 109-90 victory over the Kings at American Airlines Center.

Dallas has won two in a row and seven of the last nine contests in this
series. The Mavericks have lost two of three and three of their last five at

Josh Howard poured in 23 points and pulled down eight rebounds and Nowitzki
posted 20 points and 10 boards to lead Dallas past the New Orleans/Oklahoma
City Hornets, 90-79, on Saturday at New Orleans Arena.

Devin Harris scored 13 points and Jason Terry netted 12 in the win over the
Hornets for the Mavericks, who have won three straight and 17 of their last 20
games overall.

The Mavericks are 7-4 on the road this season. They are scheduled to visit the
Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday at KeyArena in the finale of a three-game
road trip.

Sacramento attempts to get back on the winning track. On Saturday, Amare
Stoudemire scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Phoenix Suns
to, a 105-98 victory over the Kings at ARCO Arena.

Kevin Martin scored 23 points for the Kings, who have lost two of their last
three games overall. John Salmons scored 20, and Ron Artest finished with 16
points for Sacramento, while Mike Bibby netted 14 and dished out seven assists
in defeat.

On the injury front for Sacramento, Martin (sprained right ankle) is
questionable for tonight’s contest. He leads the Kings in scoring (21.3 ppg).

The Kings, who will host Gilbert Arenas and the Washington Wizards on Thursday
in the final contest of a three-game homestand, are 7-5 at ARCO Arena this
