Chicago, IL (Sports Network) – Luol Deng scored 23 points, four more than
superstar Kobe Bryant, and the Chicago Bulls used a big second half to down
the Los Angeles Lakers, 94-89, at the United Center. Coming off games of 53
and 45 points, Bryant was held to 19 points on 6-of-19 from the floor.
Bryant’s struggles had plenty to do with the defense of Chris Duhon, who also
scored 11 points with six rebounds and six assists. Bryant missed all five
three-point attempts, as the club managed to make only 3-of-19 from long
distance. The Lakers have lost three of four. Ben Gordon, coming off the
bench as the sixth man, poured in 22 points while Michael Sweetney chipped
in 11. Ben Wallace had a full stat sheet with nine rebounds, seven assists
and three blocks to go along with four points. Chicago has won five in a row
and 12 of its last 13. Kwame Brown totaled 18 points and 12 rebounds while
Smush Parker chipped in 16 points in defeat.

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) – Amare Stoudemire scored 28 points and grabbed
10 rebounds, and Steve Nash doled out 15 assists to lead the Phoenix Suns to a
franchise-record 15th straight win over the Toronto Raptors, 115-98.
The 15 straight wins tops the 14 straight wins by the 1992-93 Suns in December
of 1992. T.J. Ford scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the
Raptors, but left with a bruised lower back in the fourth quarter and
did not return. Andrea Bargnani scored 18 points and grabbed eight boards for
the Raptors, who had a three-game winning streak snapped. P.J. Tucker and
Morris Peterson scored 12 points apiece, and Tucker grabbed nine boards for
Toronto. Nash scored 10 points for Phoenix, which has not lost since Nov. 18
at Utah. Shawn Marion scored 17 points, and Leandro Barbosa added 14 points
off of the bench. Raja Bell scored 13 points and Boris Diaw scored 12
points on the night.
