with 1.3 seconds left in regulation and finished with 27 points to lift Dallas
over Phoenix, 101-99, at American Airlines Center. Nowitzki, who took a pass
in the right wing from Jason Terry and hit the shot over Shawn Marion,
finished just 8-of-20 from the floor but went 10-of-11 from the line and also
pulled down 10 rebounds in the thrilling victory. Terry led the Mavericks with
35 points and dished out eight assists while Howard netted 16 points and
grabbed 12 boards. Dallas, which has won eight straight games, shot 41 percent
from the field. Stoudemire scored a team-high 25 points with 13 rebounds and
Steve Nash posted 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting with 13 helpers for the Suns,
who have dropped two of three since their sizzling 15-game winning streak.
Leandro Barbosa contributed 14 points off the bench with five assists and

both added 12 points. Deron Williams and Gordan Giricek both scored 11 points
for the Jazz, who have split their last six games. Mehmet Okur and Paul

the Pepsi Center. Iverson, in his third game as a Nugget, shot a sizzling
17-of-29 from the field and 9-of-12 from the line. Earl Boykins came off the
bench and scored 24 points while Reggie Evans added nine points and pulled
down 18 boards for Denver. The Nuggets, who have won two straight and four of
five, shot 49 percent from the floor. Damien Wilkins netted 26 points and
had five steals for the SuperSonics, who had a two-game winning streak
snapped and lost for the seventh time in nine contests. Luke Ridnour posted
16 points with five assists and Earl Watson donated 15 points with seven
helpers in defeat.
