Garbajosa and Foye earn NBA rookie honors

New York, NY (Sports Network) – Jorge Garbajosa of the Toronto Raptors and
Randy Foye of the Minnesota Timberwolves have been chosen as the NBA’s top
rookies for December.

Garbajosa captured the Eastern Conference honor after tying for first among
rookies in double-doubles for the month with three. He also tallied nine
double-digit scoring games in December and led the Raptors in scoring once,
rebounds four times and assists once.

Foye, the seventh overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, led Western Conference
rookies in scoring (9.6 ppg), assists (2.3 apg) and free throw accuracy (90.9
percent) in December. He reached double figures in scoring for every game in
the month, including a December 29 win over Seattle, where he collected 12
points, a season high seven rebounds and five assists. Foye currently ranks
third among Western Conference rookies in scoring (8.0 ppg) and fifth in
assists (1.7 apg).
