Toronto led by as many as 22 in the game, but had to hold off a furious rally
by Washington to post a 116-111 win over the Wizards. T.J. Ford had 20
points and Anthony Parker chipped in with 16 points, six rebounds and six
assists for the Raptors, who have won two straight. Joey Graham added 15
points off the bench, part of 41 points that Toronto received from its
reserves. Gilbert Arenas had just four points in the first quarter, but
heated up and finished with 33 in the game. He finished 7-of-19 from the
floor and hit on 17-of-21 from the free throw line. Caron Butler had 24 points
and eight rebounds, while Antawn Jamison donated 17 points and a season-high
14 boards for the Wizards, who lost for just the second time in nine games

while Ricky Davis netted 16 for the T’wolves, who have won four straight.
Trenton Hassell donated 14 points and Mike James chipped in 12 points and
dished out 10 assists in the win. Tracy McGrady scored a game-high 31
points and Shane Battier poured in 20 points for the Rockets, who had a
five-game winning streak come to an end. Juwan Howard had 19 points in the
setback.

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) – Manu Ginobili poured in a game-high 34 points
and added five steals as San Antonio downed Memphis, 110-96, at the
FedExForum. Robert Horry added 18 points off the bench for the Spurs, who
snapped a three- game skid. Michael Finley chipped in with 12 points while Tim
Duncan and Bruce Bowen each finished with 10. Pau Gasol tallied 24 points
for the Grizzlies, who are now 2-3 under interim head coach Tony Barone.
Mike Miller contributed 14 points and eight rebounds while Damon Stoudamire
netted 13 points.

Orlando, FL (Sports Network) – Dwight Howard scored 18 points and pulled down
12 rebounds as Orlando bested Boston, 87-79, at Amway Arena. Grant Hill
returned from a foot injury to add 21 points for the Magic, who won their
fourth straight game. Darko Milicic chipped in with 12 points while Tony
Battie finished with 11 and 10 boards. Tony Allen dropped in 21 points and had
seven steals for the Celtics, who lost for the eighth time in 10 games.
Wally Szczerbiak tallied 15 points while Delonte West netted 13 for Boston.

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) – Shawn Marion dominated inside play with 24
points and 17 rebounds, as Phoenix continued its amazing run with a 128-105
rout of the Golden State Warriors. Leandro Barbosa tallied 26 points and
James Jones added 25 for the Suns, who won their sixth straight game. They
have captured 24 of their last 27 contests following a 1-5 start to the
campaign. Steve Nash contributed 14 points and 10 assists for Phoenix, which
beat Golden State for the sixth time in the last seven meetings. Nash
also became the ninth player (fourth active) in NBA history to reach the
10,000-point, 5,000- assist and 1,000 three-point field goal milestone.
Amare Stoudemire contributed 10 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Monta Ellis
scored 22 points, but also accounted for nine of Golden State’s 25 turnovers.
Baron Davis had 17 points and Kelenna Azubuike tallied 16 for the Warriors,
who have dropped two of their last three games. Andris Biedrins tied his
career high with 17 rebounds for Golden State.

Portland, OR (Sports Network) – Dwyane Wade scored 33 points in his return to
the Miami lineup and accounted for the Heat’s final six points in a 93-90
triumph over the Portland Trail Blazers. Wade, who missed the previous four
games with a sprained right wrist, shot 9-of-17 from the field and 15-of-17
from the foul line. He also hit four big foul shots in the final 22.8 seconds,
as the Heat snapped a five-game skid. Jason Kapono 19 points, while Udonis
Haslem contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds for Miami, which rallied from
a 16-point deficit to beat Portland for a fourth straight time. Brandon Roy
scored 18 points, but missed a potential tying three-pointer at the buzzer,
as the Trail Blazers lost for the fifth time in six contests. Zach Randolph
ended with 15 points and LaMarcus Aldridge a career-best 14 for Portland.

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) – Sasha Vujacic scored a career-best 16
points and hit a trio of three-pointers in the final quarter, as the Lakers
ended Dallas’ 13-game winning streak with a thrilling 101-98 triumph at the
Staples Center. Vujacic ended 6-of-7 from the field, including 4-of-5 from
beyond the arc, and Kobe Bryant tallied 26 points, eight rebounds and six
assists for Los Angeles. Luke Walton ended with 21 points for Los Angeles,
which became Dallas’ first victim on the Mavs’ 13-game surge on December 13 in
Texas. Ronny Turiaf had 13 points and Smush Parker scored 11, and came up with
a huge block in the final seconds for the Lakers, who tied a season-high
with their fourth consecutive win. It also marked Phil Jackson’s 900th career
NBA win, the fastest to reach that mark in league history. Dirk Nowitzki had
29 points and 13 rebounds for the Mavericks, whose 13-game run was one shy
of a franchise-record, set at the start of the 2002-03 campaign.
