Blazers take on Mavs in Dallas

(Sports Network) – The Portland Trail Blazers wrap up a short two-game road
trip when they visit the Dallas Mavericks tonight at American Airlines Center.

This is the second meeting of the campaign between the clubs. On November
12th, All-Star Dirk Nowitzki finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds to lead
the Mavericks to a 103-96 victory over the Trail Blazers at the Rose Garden.

The Mavericks have won 11 straight and 12 of the last 13 meetings in this
series. Portland has lost six straight and nine of its last 10 at Dallas.

The last time the Trail Blazers defeated Dallas was on December 23, 2003 in
front of their fans.

Portland attempts to halt a two-game losing streak this evening. Tim Duncan
posted 16 points and nine rebounds, as the San Antonio Spurs topped the Trail
Blazers, 98-84, on Tuesday at the AT&T Center.

Zach Randolph posted a game-high 25 points and grabbed nine boards in the loss
to San Antonio for the Trail Blazers, who have lost six of their last seven
games overall. Rookie LaMarcus Aldridge scored 17 points and pulled down six
rebounds, while Jarrett Jack had 13 points and five assists in defeat.

The Trail Blazers are 7-11 on the road this season. After tonight’s contest,
they return home for a three-game stand. Portland will host Sacramento, Denver
and Cleveland on the upcoming homestand.

Dallas returns home after going 2-1 on a three-game road trip. On Tuesday,
Dirk Nowitzki poured in a season-high 38 points as the Mavericks held off the
Utah Jazz, 108-105, at EnergySolutions Arena.

Josh Howard had 21 points and nine rebounds in the win over the Jazz for
Dallas, while Jason Terry had 18 points for the Mavericks, who bounced back
from a 101-98 road loss to the Lakers on Sunday at the Staples Center.

The Mavericks are an impressive 16-3 at home this season. They hit the road
for games against the Indiana Pacers on Friday at Conseco Fieldhouse and the
Toronto Raptors on Sunday at the Air Canada Centre.
