Wade, Nowitzki awarded NBA weekly honors
New York, NY (Sports Network) – Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade and Dallas
Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki were named the Eastern and Western Conference
Players of the Week, respectively, for the week ending January 14.
Wade averaged 27.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 10.7 assists and 2.0 steals while
leading the Heat to a 3-0 record. He scored 29 points and added 13
assists, five rebounds and one block in the Heat’s 107-103 win at Seattle
before setting a franchise record with 21 free throws made in Miami’s 119-110
win at Utah on January 13.
Nowitzki netted 32.5 points, pulled down 8.5 boards and dished out 3.5
assists as the Mavericks won all four games during the week. He scored 43
points and added 12 rebounds in Dallas’ win at Indiana and netted 38 points in
games at Utah and Toronto during the week.
