Nets try to make it four wins in a row vs. Orlando

(Sports Network) – The struggling Orlando Magic play the first of a brief
two-game road trip when they visit the New Jersey Nets tonight at Continental
Airlines Arena.

This is the first of three meetings between the teams this season. Orlando has
lost two in a row at New Jersey. The Nets have won three straight in the
series.

The Magic enter tonight’s contest on a four-game losing streak. On Friday,
Antawn Jamison dominated inside play with 31 points and 16 rebounds, as the
Washington Wizards pulled away over the final 15 minutes for a 114-93 victory
over the Magic at TD Waterhouse Centre.

Grant Hill had 24 points and Dwight Howard was a force for Orlando with 20
points and 13 rebounds in the loss to Washington. Jameer Nelson had 15 points
and seven assists in defeat.

Orlando is 8-11 on the road this season. The Magic will visit LeBron James and
the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday at Quicken Loans Arena.

The Nets try to extend their winning streak to four games. Clifford Robinson’s
tip-in with 2.8 seconds left gave New Jersey a 101-100 victory over the New
York Knicks on Friday at Madison Square Garden

Jason Kidd had 23 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, while Richard
Jefferson added 21 points and dished out six assists in the win over New York
for the Nets, who have won three in a row and eight of their last 10 contests
overall. Vince Carter scored 16 points, pulled down six rebounds and handed
out seven assists in the victory.

New Jersey is 12-10 at home this season. After tonight’s contest, the Nets
will embark on a five-game road trip. They will visit Sacramento, Golden
State, the Clippers, Denver and Utah.
