and Andre Miller contributed 17 points and dished out 11 assists as the
Philadelphia 76ers defeated the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets, 102-96, at
the Wachovia Center. Andre Iguodala chipped in with 20 points and six assists
for Philadelphia, which won for just the second time in six games and third in
its last 11. Rodney Carney donated 13 points and five rebounds, while Samuel
Dalembert added 10 points and seven boards. Devin Brown paced the Hornets with
24 points, while David West had a double- double with 23 points and 11
rebounds in a losing cause. Desmond Mason was the final player in double
figures, chipping in 17 points for New Orleans/Oklahoma City, which has lost
two of three.

Washington, DC (Sports Network) – Steve Nash scored 27 points, hitting 11-
of-13 shots, and dished out 14 assists to lead the Phoenix Suns to their 14th
straight win, a 127-105 rout of the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center.
Raja Bell added 21 points and eight boards and Shawn Marion tallied 21 points
with six rebounds for the Suns, who moved within one more win of tying their
franchise record for consecutive victories set earlier this season.
James Jones had 16 points, Amare Stoudemire recorded 15 points and seven
boards and Boris Diaw registered 14 points and eight assists for Phoenix,
which began a five-game road trip by improving to 30-2 over its last 32
contests. Gilbert Arenas had 31 points to lead the Wizards, who had a four-
game win streak halted. Caron Butler added 24 points and Antonio Daniels had
20 points for Washington, which fell behind early and never recovered.

Orlando, FL (Sports Network) – Dirk Nowitzki poured in 33 points with 10
rebounds and eight assists, as the red-hot Dallas Mavericks won their eighth
straight contest with a 111-95 thumping of the Orlando Magic at Amway Arena.
Josh Howard added 25 points and Jason Terry posted 14 points and six assists
for Dallas, which has won four games during the stretch on the road.
Jameer Nelson led Orlando with 23 points while Hedo Turkoglu collected 17
points. Dwight Howard posted a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds
for the Magic, who have lost six of seven overall.

points, as the Chicago Bulls held off the Atlanta Hawks, posting a 94-86
victory at the United Center. Six players finished in double figures for
Chicago, which ended a two-game slide. P.J. Brown had 15 points and nine
rebounds, while Andres Nocioni came off the bench to chip in 14 and add seven
boards. Kirk Hinrich and Ben Gordon donated 12 apiece, while Ben Wallace
netted 11 on the night. Hinrich also had 12 assists, as the Bulls beat the
Hawks for a ninth straight time. Joe Johnson scored a game-high 29 points for
Atlanta, which has lost three straight. Marvin Williams had 22 points, while
Josh Smith contributed 16 points and six rebounds in a losing cause.

Seattle, WA (Sports Network) – Carmelo Anthony scored 34 points and grabbed
nine rebounds to lead the Denver Nuggets over the Seattle SuperSonics,
117-112, at KeyArena. In just his second game back from a 15-game
suspension for his role in a December 16 fight with the Knicks, Anthony hit
12-of-26 shots from the field in 41 minutes of action. Allen Iverson added 21
points and 10 assists for Denver, which has won five in a row. J.R. Smith
had 20 points and Nene recorded 17 points and seven boards for the Nuggets,
who used a 10-0 run late in the fourth quarter to take control. Ray Allen
had 44 points, hitting 16-of-31 shots, to lead the Sonics, who had a three-
game win streak halted. Allen hit 6-of-17 three-pointers. Chris Wilcox added
25 points and 12 boards and Nick Collison had 18 points and 10 rebounds for
Seattle, which fell to 3-2 on its current seven-game homestand.

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) – Elton Brand scored 25 points and pulled
down seven rebounds, as the Clippers ran away for a 115-96 win over the
shorthanded Milwaukee Bucks. Cuttino Mobley added 22 points for Los Angeles,
which had 31 assists in the game, on the way to a third consecutive victory.
Mobley and Brand each went 10-of-15 from the floor. Chris Kaman contributed 11
points, 11 rebounds and a career-high six blocks for the Clippers, who beat
the Bucks for a fourth straight time overall and for a seventh straight time
in Los Angeles. Charlie Bell had 24 points to lead Milwaukee, which has
dropped four in a row and nine of 10.
