Streaking Jazz host Grizzlies

(Sports Network) – The Utah Jazz try to extend their winning streak to five
games when they host the Memphis Grizzlies tonight at EnergySolutions Arena.

This is the second meeting of the season between the clubs. On December 23rd,
Carlos Boozer poured in 24 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out five
assists to lead Utah past Memphis, 100-97, at FedExForum.

The Grizzlies have lost six of nine and eight of their last 12 at Utah.

Utah plays the middle contest of a three-game homestand. Mehmet Okur scored 28
points, as the Jazz topped Northwest Division-rival Minnesota, 106-91, on
Monday at EnergySolutions Arena.

Deron Williams posted 21 points and a career-high tying 15 assists in the win
over the Timberwolves for the Jazz, who have won four in a row after a four-
game losing streak. Boozer scored 18 points and Matt Harpring netted 11 off
the bench in the victory.

The Jazz are 15-4 at home this season. They will host Carmelo Anthony and the
Denver Nuggets on Friday in the finale of the current homestand.

Memphis, which plays the third of a four-game road trip, attempts to halt a
two-game losing streak. On Monday Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony combined
for 51 points in their first game as Denver teammates, as the Nuggets defeated
the Grizzlies, 115-98, at the Pepsi Center.

Pau Gasol totaled 23 points, 17 rebounds and six assists in the loss to Denver
for the Grizzlies, who suffered their 10th straight road loss. Chucky Atkins
added 15 points for Memphis, which lost for the seventh time in the last nine
games overall.

The Grizzlies are a dismal 2-19 on the road this season. Their last win on the
road was on December 6th against the Boston Celtics.
