Portland takes on Grizzlies in Memphis

(Sports Network) – The Memphis Grizzlies will open a five-game homestand this
evening when they welcome the Portland Trail Blazers to FedExForum.

Memphis, which is last in the Southwest standings and 8-13 at home this
season, completed a four-game road trip with a 1-3 record. On Friday the
Grizzlies suffered a 112-96 loss to the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center.

Hakim Warrick had 27 points and Eddie Jones 17 for the Grizzlies, who lost for
the sixth time in eight contests. Memphis will now host Portland, Sacramento,
Dallas, Indiana and Houston on the homestand.

Grizzlies center Pau Gasol (strained left hamstring) is questionable for
Saturday’s game against the Blazers.

Portland, meanwhile, had a two-game winning streak come to an end with
Friday’s 99-69 setback to the Rockets in the opener of a three-game road trip
at the Toyota Center.

Zach Randolph scored 13 points and grabbed six boards for the Trail Blazers,
who shot just 36.1 percent from the field. Portland will also visit the
Hornets on the trip and is 7-14 away from The Rose Garden this season.

The Blazers defeated Memphis, 85-79, on December 13 this season at FedExForum
to snap a two-game skid in the series.

Memphis has won three of five and six of the last nine meetings with the
Blazers, who have won two of their last three trips to Memphis.
