Iverson sidelined with sprained ankle
Denver, CO (Sports Network) – Denver Nuggets guard Allen Iverson suffered a
sprained right ankle against Charlotte on Monday, and will miss at least one
Iverson did not travel with the team for Wednesday’s game in Portland. A
release by the organization said he will not undergo an MRI.
Despite the injury, Iverson finished with 31 points in a losing effort, as
Denver was edged by the Bobcats 105-101.
Fellow star and teammate Carmelo Anthony also was injured in the contest,
suffering a sprained left wrist, but is expected to be in action against the
Iverson, who was shipped from the 76ers to the Nuggets earlier this season, is
averaging 27.1 points and 7.7 assists in 19 games for Denver.
