Kidd out for a pair

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) – Already missing center Nenad Krstic
(knee) for the season and forward Richard Jefferson (ankle) for at least the
next three weeks, the New Jersey Nets will be without point guard Jason Kidd
until after the All-Star break due to a strained lower back.

Kidd is averaging 14.3 points, 8.7 assists and eight rebounds per game this
season.

There has been no announcement as to whether or not Kidd will participate in
the All-Star game Sunday in Las Vegas.

Before Tuesday’s loss to San Antonio, Kidd hadn’t missed a game due to
sickness or injury since December 4, 2004. Kidd will also miss Wednesday’s
contest in Toronto versus the Atlantic Division-leading Raptors.
