Blazers ship Dixon to Raptors for Jones

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) – The Toronto Raptors acquired guard Juan Dixon
from the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for guard/forward Fred Jones on
Thursday.

The 6-foot-3 Dixon averaged career highs of 12.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.0
assists last season for Portland. Those numbers have dipped to 8.9 points, 1.5
rebounds and 1.5 assists in 55 games this season, however.

The Maryland product was selected 17th overall by Washington in the 2002 NBA
Draft, and spent his first three seasons with the Wizards before signing with
Portland as a free agent in 2005.

Jones, meanwhile, joined the Raptors as a free agent in July of 2006 following
four seasons with the Indiana Pacers. He is averaging 7.6 points and 2.1
rebounds so far this season.
