Clippers, SuperSonics conclude home-and-home set

(Sports Network) – The Los Angeles Clippers and the Seattle SuperSonics play
the finale of a home-and-home set tonight at KeyArena.

This is the fourth and final meeting of the campaign between the clubs.

The Clippers have won three straight after losing their last three in Seattle.

On Wednesday, Elton Brand finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and seven
assists as the Clippers made it three wins in a row with a 96-91 victory over
the SuperSonics at the Staples Center.

Corey Maggette also scored 18 points for LA, which played the finale of a
five-game homestand. Veteran Sam Cassell scored 16 points and Tim Thomas
netted 13 for the Clippers, who went 3-2 on the stand.

Rashard Lewis scored 21 points in the loss for Seattle, which has lost three
of it last four games overall. All-Star Ray Allen and Earl Watson both netted
19 points. Chris Wilcox netted 13 points, and Nick Collison added 12 rebounds
for the SuperSonics, who are just 6-22 on the road this season and have
dropped three in a row as the visitor.

With Seattle trailing 91-89, Allen cut through the lane for a layup with 46.1
seconds left. Maggette then got fouled and converted both free throws for a
93-91 Clippers lead with 27.6 seconds remaining.

On the ensuing possession, Watson overthrew a pass intended for Collison out-
of-bounds, and Chris Kaman next converted two free throws for a two-possession
game, 95-91, with 10.9 seconds on the clock.

Lewis air-balled a three-point attempt, and Cuttino Mobley’s free throw with
1.2 seconds left sealed the win for LA.

The Clippers, who return home to host Indiana on Saturday and San Antonio on
Monday, are just 8-19 on the road this season, while the SuperSonics are
16-13 at KeyArena.
