Lakers fine Radmanovic

El Segundo, CA (Sports Network) – Los Angeles Lakers forward Vladimir
Radmanovic, who admitted lying about how he suffered a separated right
shoulder, was fined an undisclosed amount by the team on Thursday.

It was last Friday that Radmanovic disclosed he suffered the injury while
snowboarding and not slipping on a patch of ice, as first admitted. The injury
will keep him out two months.

“We discussed internally among our coach, ownership and management a variety
of disciplinary options and thought that this was the fairest and most
appropriate action,” Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said. “We consider
this a closed issue now and look forward to Vlade’s return to action where
he’ll be able to use his talents to help our team.”

In 52 games this season with the Lakers, Radmanovic has averaged 6.9 points
and 3.4 rebounds per contest.

The five-year veteran has appeared in 402 games with the Seattle SuperSonics,
Los Angeles Clippers and Lakers, averaging 9.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per
game.

After splitting last season with the SuperSonics and Clippers, Radmanovic
signed a five-year contract with the Lakers in the offseason.
