Report: Bickerstaff to be replaced on Charlotte bench

Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) – Bernie Bickerstaff will reportedly not return
as the Charlotte Bobcats head coach next season.

The Charlotte Observer reported Tuesday that managing member of basketball
operations Michael Jordan stated that Bickerstaff will not return as the
team’s head coach next year, but will be offered a high-level front office
position. Bickerstaff is also the team’s general manager.

Bickerstaff, who will finish out the remainder of this season on Charlotte’s
bench, has guided the Bobcats to a 23-41 record and last place spot in the
Southeast Division entering play on Tuesday.

Bickerstaff has been head coach/general manager of the team since it first
entered the league in 2004. In three seasons, the franchise has struggled with
a record of 67-161.
