Williams, Bucks down Hawks

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) – Maurice Williams scored 26 points, dished out
seven assists and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Milwaukee Bucks over the
Atlanta Hawks, 102-96, at the Bradley Center.

Reuben Patterson added 23 points for the Bucks, who have won two of three
after losing four straight. Charlie Bell had 14 points for Milwaukee, which
ended its home schedule with an 18-23 mark.

Marvin Williams had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead Atlanta, which has
dropped three straight. Josh Smith added 17 points and 10 boards and Shelden
Williams had 16 points and 17 rebounds for the Hawks, who have dropped 13 in
a row on the road, ending their road schedule with a 12-29 mark.

Both teams have one game remaining before preparing for the off-season.

Hawks head coach Mike Woodson missed the game with food poisoning. Assistant
coach Larry Drew led the team in Woodson’s absence.

Atlanta led 21-20 late in the first quarter, but the Bucks ended the frame
with an 11-4 run to take the lead for good. Patterson’s bucket started the
run, putting Milwaukee on top. He later ended the surge with a a pair of free
throws, giving his club a 31-25 advantage.

The Bucks continued to pour it on in the second, going ahead by 10 points for
the first time when Lynn Greer connected for a 37-27 cushion. Milwaukee later
ended the half by scoring nine of the final 12 points for a 56-43 lead.

The Hawks were held at bay throughout the third as well, going into the fourth
down 84-71. The Bucks increased the lead to as many as 21 points, 96-75, in
the fourth quarter after David Noel hit a three-pointer 5 1/2 minutes into the

The Bucks won the season series 2-1…Milwaukee has not dropped a season
series to the Hawks since the 1997-98 campaign…The Bucks have not had more
than 23 home losses since going 14-27 at home during the 1995-96
season…Royal Ivey had 13 points and Tyronn Lue tallied 11 for the Hawks.
