Cavs advance to Eastern Conference finals

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) – LeBron James scored 23 points, grabbed
eight rebounds, and had eight assists as the Cleveland Cavaliers survived a
third-quarter Nets comeback and topped New Jersey, 88-72, to advance to the
Eastern Conference Finals for only the third time in franchise history, and
the first time since 1992, in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Cleveland will face Central Division rival Detroit in the conference finals.

Donyell Marshall poured in 18 points, all on three-pointers, and Drew Gooden
added 16 points and seven rebounds as the Cavs rebounded from a frustrating
Game 5 loss in Cleveland to win the series on the road.

Jason Kidd had 19 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists for the Nets, who
sliced a 22-point first half deficit to only one point entering the fourth
quarter, only to see it all slip away in the final 12 minutes. Richard
Jefferson had 16 points and eight boards for New Jersey, and Mikki
Moore added 14 points and seven boards.
