Spurs celebrate fourth title in nine years

San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) – The San Antonio Spurs and their fans
celebrated the team’s fourth NBA championship Sunday with a parade on the
city’s famed River Walk and a party in the Alamodome.

San Antonio downed the Cleveland Cavaliers in four games to claim this
year’s title, their fourth in nine years. The Spurs also claimed the NBA crown
in 1999, 2003 and 2005.

The parade took place Sunday evening as the team floated in barges in the
San Antonio River. Thousands of people crowded the River Walk to watch the
procession.

The star of the show was Spurs point guard and finals MVP Tony Parker, who
rode through the River Walk with his fiance and Texas native, Eva Longoria,
the fetching actress who stars in the hit television series, “Desperate
Housewives.”

From there, the celebration moved into the Alamodome, the team’s former
home where nearly 60,000 fans gathered to pay homage to the sports world’s
latest dynasty.
