Iavaroni completes coaching staff

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) – Grizzlies new head coach Marc Iavaroni,
along with general manager Chris Wallace, announced the hiring of Johnny
Davis, Gordon Chiesa and David Joerger as assistant coaches.

Davis has head coaching experience with the Philadelphia 76ers (1996-97) and
the Orlando Magic (2003-05). The 17-year coaching veteran has also logged
several years as an assistant coach, most recently with Indiana last season.

Chiesa spent the majority of his career with the Utah Jazz, having spent 16
years as an assistant coach for the club. Last season, Chiesa was an assistant
coach for the Seattle SuperSonics.

Joerger was the head coach of the 2006-07 NBA Development League champion
Dakota Wizards. This is his first NBA coaching job.

“They bring a diversely successful set of experience, skills and teamwork that
will form the backbone of our efforts to bring out the best in our players
throughout the season and playoffs,” said Iavaroni.
