Bobcats lock up G Carroll
Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) – The Charlotte Bobcats are reportedly set to
re-sign guard Matt Carroll to a long-term deal.
According to the Charlotte Observer, the contract would be worth $27 million
over six years. Carroll was plucked from the NBA’s developmental league two
years ago by the Bobcats after failing in tryouts with Portland, San Antonio
and Golden State.
The former Notre Dame star worked his way into the starting lineup last season
and averaged a career-high 12.1 points per game and shot 42 percent from the
NBA free agents can not officially sign contracts until July 11.
