Suns complete draft-day deal, send Jones to Portland

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) – The Phoenix Suns completed their draft-day
deal with the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday, sending forward James Jones
to Portland.

Jones was dealt along with the 24th overall selection in the June 28 draft,
which was used by Portland to select Spanish guard Rudy Fernandez, in exchange
for cash considerations.

Jones, a four-year veteran, averaged 6.4 points and 2.3 points in 76 games for
the Suns last season. He came to Phoenix in a sign-and-trade deal from the
Indiana Pacers in 2005, and has averaged 6.7 points and 2.6 rebounds per game
over his career.
