Lebron James is Not a ‘Role Model’
Anybody who has had a child or been one, sadly recognizes that nobody else’s experiences – parents, entertainers, coaches, criminals – mean diddly-squat, count for anything and have sub-zero impact on us; we all tend to insist on making our own mistakes. The lucky ones are those whose mistakes haven’t maimed, paralyzed or killed you or someone else.Hopefully we learn from them.
Everything LeBron ‘Speed Racer’ James has said since getting ticketed by the Ohio State Highway Patrol for topping out at 101 mph (in a 65 zone) on a Cleveland-area interstate around 3 a.m., Dec. 30., his 23rd birthday, gives a good indication it was a valuable lesson unlearned. What’s more, I might’ve perceived a Cavalier attitude. ‘It’s 200 on the dashboard. I was doing 101,’ James remarked this week. ‘That’s it. I was speeding. I’ve just got to abide by the law. I got caught. It happens.’ Click here for more from the New York Post.
