Chris Webber and Detroit Pistons Together Again

With the NBA’s Feb. 21 trading deadline a month away, the names of several players and teams will make the rounds at water coolers across the country. All such talk involving the Detroit Pistons — for now, at least — is pure speculation…While that may be true now, Dumars is known for putting deals together quickly. The trade last month that landed Primoz Brezec and Walter Herrmann from Charlotte in exchange for Nazr Mohammed came together in a matter of hours. ‘We’re always leaving all options open,’ Dumars said.

‘That’s never taken off the table with us.’Dumars also spoke about the persistent rumors that Detroit was close to re-acquiring Detroit native Chris Webber, who played the final 43 games of last season with the Pistons. I had dialogue with Chris (Monday) afternoon,’ Dumars said. ‘And what I expressed to him, is that we do not have a roster spot open. That has not changed. And if we were to have a roster spot open, we’d still have to have a conversation about (his) role, minutes … and all those things.’ Click here for more from Michigan Live.
