Jerry Reinsdorf: Skiles Said Team Needed A ‘New Voice’
Bulls Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf talked publicly for the first time about Scott Skiles’ Christmas Eve firing in an interview to be aired Sunday night on WGN-Ch. 9’s "Instant Replay."
"Something didn’t mesh right this year," Reinsdorf told WGN’s Rich King. "Scott came to us eventually and said, ‘I think the team needs a new voice.’ … Scott realized that he wasn’t getting through to them. It was time to do something else."
Reached Saturday, Skiles declined to respond. In a phone interview with the Tribune on Christmas Eve, Skiles said it was his "day to be held accountable" and responded quickly when asked directly if he wanted out. [Click here for more from the Chicago Tribune.]
