Jason Kidd to Dallas for 1 Year and $20 Million?
How long Jason Kidd will be wearing Nets colors remains up in the air. On Monday, he went public with his desire to be traded, telling an ESPN The Magazine reporter that his agent already had contacted Nets president Rod Thorn with the request. A reported trade possibility that would have included three teams – the Nets, Mavericks and Trail Blazers – has cooled down.
In that deal, Kidd would have gone to Dallas and the Nets would have received Jerry Stackhouse and Devean George from the Mavs as well as Channing Frye, Jarrett Jack and Travis Outlaw from Portland. Thorn is likely to hold out for more, league sources say. There are sure to be other rumors before the Feb. 21 deadline. But forward Richard Jefferson and coach Lawrence Frank have both said that nothing will distract the Nets. Click here for more from the New York Daily News.
